Build a party. Queue the turn. Survive what resolves.
Golgothian is a dark-fantasy, party-based roguelike deckbuilder where every run starts with a team, not a lone hero. Choose your party, tune passives and starter cards, route through the dungeon, and fight tactical card battles where plans resolve only after you commit.
Each room pushes the build in a new direction. Draft cards, equip gear, discover combos, spend gold, gamble on events, recover at rest sites, or push into harder fights for better rewards. Survivors can carry names, levels, gear, and progression forward — but the dungeon is built to take them from you.
Plan, Target, Then Commit
Combat is split between Planning and Execution. During Planning, queue cards for the party, choose targets, read enemy intent, and set up attacks, block, healing, buffs, and status effects. When the turn resolves, queued actions and enemy moves fire through the battle system with visible targets, previews, and effects.
Build Around a Party, Not One Hero

Your team is the build. Class choices, passive identities, starter cards, gear, reward cards, packs, and dungeon choices all feed into how the party fights. A defensive lineup, a burst-heavy spell plan, a sustain engine, or a strange cross-class combo can all become the run if the cards support it.
Discover Combos and Hidden Synergies
Some card sequences can combine into stronger party actions. Discover combos through play, record them in the codex, and keep future synergies hidden until you earn them.
Choose the Path Downward

The dungeon route matters. Battles, elites, bosses, shops, events, rest sites, and treasure rooms compete for your health, mana, gold, and reward chances. Pick the route your party can survive — or take the greedy path and deal with the consequences.
Loot, Equip, and Carry What Survives
Victories can award gold, cards, gear, and other run-shaping rewards. Equip individual party members, trim weak cards, buy tools between fights, and carry surviving characters forward with their history intact.
